this is the short ver! I'll do a long version one day--Kuro and Ruu met when they were about 5 years old!Kuro was showing a bug to Shu one day and Ruu arrived at the playground and got interested in the bug, He thought it was weird that she wasn't afraid bugs and rather interested and she wasn't like the other kids at school
they eventually became close and would end up in the same schools, but due to ruu's strict mother they were distancedKuro found out about her arranged marriage with a fellow classmate who doesn't even love her and would talk bad about her when she's not around and he overheard everything one day, he ended up beating the person up (since this was during his delinquent days) and never told ruu til they meet and reconnect in yumenosaki.They didn't start dating til kuro was nearing graduation, he was afraid that this would be his last chance to tell Ruu his feelings. (lmao they meet like half a year later)
